A multi-faceted designer and artist, Laura Ciccarello explores personal expression through fashion and visual art which emanates a distinct New York essence and attitude. Her digital prints and paintings are often figurative and usually depict notable celebrities and pop icon individuals such as Marylin Monroe and James Bond. These particular works are expressed through infusing elements of other references to pop culture, such as integrating concepts between the film Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas starring Johnny Depp with a skyline of New York and a digitally altered version of Marylin Monroe. Her digital works and paintings often have an appearance of a collage as they incorporate elements of geometry, meme-like objects such as hearts or diamonds, skyscrapers, and silhouettes of figures. Such variations provide a complex notion of visual stimulation and dynamic application towards suggestions of pop art.

The fashion and jewelry series of Laura Ciccarello present a very stylish and luxurious reflection of New York life. Her intricate designs, especially pertaining to her jewelry sets of rings depict layouts of swirls and curvature reminiscent of French Rococo paintings or Victorian wallpaper. These beautiful jewelry collections are bound by intricate gold and silver followed by generous amounts of geometric gems overtaking the center. As a result, these works are a reflection of refinement, flamboyance, and opulence. Laura’s series of fashion scarfs are displayed vibrantly against the New York skyline with beautiful models. These fabric designs emulate color and floral-inspired impressions which exude femininity and luxury.

I Heart Fear And Loathing In New York (pictured above) depicts a digital acrylic print incorporating the lenticular printing technique, a method which entails the viewer seeing multiple images depending on where they are standing as they are viewing the artwork. The reflection depicts Marylin Monroe amongst a darkened New York skyline with strategic neon colors laid out followed by an image reflected in the lenticular view of text containing the title of the work. A deep purple and clever design exclaims statements of both love of New York as well as a notion of dream-like sequences.
