Jaina Cipriano's Upcoming Arthouse Film

Filmmaker, photographer, set designer, actor, & writer Jaina Cipriano from the Boston metropolitan area is working on a new bold film titled Actualization. A project bigger and more ambitious than any of her previous endeavors and she is asking for financial help. The fundraising goal for the film is a modest $20,000 in order to pay for materials, rent equipment, and pay crew / staff. Like all of Jaina’s short arthouse films and photography, Actualization will contain 100% handcrafted set design and props, which is a breath of fresh air in the age of digital automation and AI slop. The sets and props will be constructed by Jaina Cipriano herself along with her crew.

What is Actualization about? Billie has lived in terror of vomiting since childhood. When a positive pregnancy test shatters her fragile stability, she is drawn into a surreal confrontation with her mother, led by her worn-out childhood teddy bear. Jaina describes, “Emetophobia affects millions, but almost no one talks about it. I have had this fear since elementary school but it wasn’t until my early 20’s that I realized there was a name for it. And a name meant treatment, it meant understanding. It meant there was hope. I want anyone suffering with this to know there is hope”.
